Creating Long-Term Value

Aboitiz Construction drives economic sustainability by focusing on strong economic performance, responsible local procurement, and client satisfaction. We leverage innovation to enhance efficiency and actively engage with our supply chain to promote transparency and sustainability. These efforts create lasting value for our clients and communities.

Procurement Practices and Supply Chain Management

Vendor Code of Conduct

Our core values guide us in our business decisions, dealings, and relationships with our stakeholders. These values, along with our principles on sustainability, help us achieve our mission to deliver reliable, reasonable, and responsible energy to our customers. We believe that our suppliers, one of the Company’s key stakeholders, play a significant role in this endeavor. By ‘supplier,’ the Company refers to any entity that provides goods and/or services to the Company, its wholly owned subsidiaries, and controlled entities.

This Supplier Code of Conduct ensures that all our suppliers uphold and share the same values and sustainability principles when doing business with the Company, and adhere to our compliance, social, and environmental standards and requirements.

The Company urges its suppliers to promote the same sustainable standards and commitments expected from this Code to their respective supply chains. However, the Company recognizes that its suppliers are independent businesses operating in different environments. To comply with these expectations for doing business with the Company, the Code defines the non-negotiable minimum standards that the Company requires from its suppliers and their sub-tier suppliers or subcontractors, with the goal of strengthening our mutual understanding, respect, transparency, trust, and partnership toward a more sustainable business.

This Code is in addition to, and not in lieu of, the provisions of any legal agreement or contract between a business partner and the Company. Suppliers must uphold high ethical standards, respect human rights, ensure fair treatment, avoid conflicts of interest, and maintain transparency. They are required to prevent child and forced labor, provide a safe work environment, protect proprietary information, and adhere to anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices, including a ban on gifts to Company employees. Suppliers must also manage environmental impact responsibly and meet quality standards, aligning with the Company’s ethical and sustainability commitments.

Local Sourcing

The company sources 98.84% of its vendors locally, highlighting our commitment to supporting the local economy and fostering regional partnerships. By prioritizing local suppliers, we enhance supply chain resilience and promote community development, ensuring that our procurement practices positively impact the communities in which we operate while aligning with our sustainability goals.

Client Satisfaction

In 2023, Aboitiz Construction achieved a client satisfaction rating of 3.30 out of 4.00. Clients were particularly pleased with our performance in Health and Environment, Safety, and Quality, appreciating our adherence to high standards.

Both our construction and maintenance services scored above average, with project scheduling and health/environmental aspects highlighted as significant drivers for maintenance services. Communication was identified as an area for improvement, which we are committed to strengthening.

We conduct client satisfaction surveys at 50% and 100% completion for construction projects lasting over six months, every six months for recurring maintenance services, and upon completion for non-recurring services. This approach allows us to regularly assess feedback and implement improvements, reinforcing our commitment to client satisfaction and fostering strong relationships.

Innovation

At Aboitiz Construction, we recognize the power of innovation in transforming our culture, where technologies are adopted, processes are reengineered, and new ways of working are introduced in our day-to-day operations.

In July 2023, the Concreate Innovation program was launched to gather solution concepts from employees that could be implemented not only in the corporate office but, more importantly, on our project sites. These ideas addressed process improvement, automation, environmental innovation, safety, and more.

Out of over 20 proposed solutions, five concepts were selected to undergo the ideation process, transforming them into detailed solutions with an implementation model. With the full support of top management, these ideas are already planned for implementation on selected project sites.
