In order to support the ongoing expansion and growth of LIMA Estate which is a booming economic zone in Batangas, Aboitiz Construction recently completed the design and construction of a 69kV overhead transmission line for LIMA Enerzone. This project will provide more effective power reliability for the said business zone as it welcomes new locators in the area.
Started in February 2019, Aboitiz Construction installed a total of 352 poles to complete the 27-kilometer transmission line that transmits electricity from National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Batangas at Brgy. Mahabang Parang in Batangas towards Lima Enerzone Substation 1 in Lipa City, bringing power supply for LIMA Estate in Lipa-Malvar areas.
“We are very honored to become part of this project that will provide more jobs and business opportunities for many Filipinos. Getting involved in power-related projects remains one of our strongest assets. We are looking forward to partnering with other companies in ensuring that more businesses and communities receive ample and reliable power supply,” said Alex Garciano, Vice President for Construction Operations of Aboitiz Construction.
Aboitiz Construction was mainly involved in building the foundations, concreting, pre-casting, and dressing of poles that will help ensure power reliability and flexibility.
LIMA Enerzone is an electric distribution utility company under Aboitiz Power Corporation which operates the distribution systems of LIMA Estate. Meanwhile, LIMA Estate is a 794-hectare industrial-anchored area in Lipa-Malvar, Batangas that currently houses 130 international and local locators, 2,500 households and 167 shops located in its mall establishments and provides jobs to more than 60,000 employees.
Aboitiz Construction has also strengthened its capability in light infrastructure projects through its ongoing construction of 73 transmission poles for Lima Enerzone that will help power businesses and households located inside the Light Industrial Science Park and in Pueblo de Oro in Malvar, Batangas. This project is expected to be completed this year and will help in sustaining the improvement of the local economy with the influx of more industries and local services in the area.
